PuraSim Study · Data 2026
Summary: within the European Union, roaming is included in the plan of all Spanish operators (with fair use limits). Outside the EU (USA, Asia, Latin America, UK, Switzerland, Andorra, Africa), roaming costs skyrocket to between €8 and €20 per day or is charged per MB — and with some operators (Lowi, Digi), you can't use data at all. A travel eSIM avoids this cost with a fixed price and is up to 90% cheaper.
Real example: 7 days in the United States

Study conclusions
- 100% of operators include roaming in the EU, but with data limits (fair use): the cheaper your plan, the less roaming data you have.
- Outside the EU, no one is cheap: the typical range is €8-20/day. A 10-day trip can cost €80-200 just for connectivity.
- Low-cost MVNOs are the worst outside the EU: Lowi and Digi limit or block data; Simyo and Pepephone charge per MB.
- The UK, Switzerland, and Andorra are not in the EU: your plan does not include roaming there, even though they are in Europe.
- The alternative: a travel eSIM provides local data for a fixed price starting from ~€1 with no bill surprises.
