Travelling to Guinea with data from the minute you land at Conakry International Airport is simple with a Guinea eSIM. Our eSIM connects to the local mobile networks with the best coverage, such as Orange Guinée and MTN Guinée, so you have stable internet in the capital and across much of the country without looking for a shop or swapping your physical SIM. You activate it before leaving home and, when you arrive, your phone connects to the Guinean network automatically.
Guinea is not part of the European Union, so the roaming rates of Spanish carriers skyrocket: it is easy to pay between 10 and 15 € a day, or even more per megabyte outside your bundle. With a data eSIM you pay a fixed rate for the whole trip and forget about surprises on the bill. It is the difference between spending tens of euros in a week or covering the entire trip for a fraction of that price. You can see the rest of all the destinations if you combine Guinea with other countries in the region.
You choose the gigabytes according to the days you spend and how you use them. As a guide: for a short work trip with maps, messaging and email, 1 GB every 3 or 4 days is usually enough; if you are going to share photos, use social media or make video calls frequently, reckon on between 3 and 5 GB for a one- to two-week stay. You can always top up if you run short, without setting anything up again.
The local SIM card is bought in person and in Guinea registering the number requires showing your passport, queueing and depending on there being stock. The eSIM is a digital card: there is no plastic, you do not lose your Spanish number and you do not have to fiddle with your phone using a tool. It arrives by email, you keep it alongside your usual SIM and activate the Guinea data whenever you want. For business or tourist trips it is the most convenient and fastest option.
Yes. Mobile data coverage is solid in Conakry and the main cities such as Kankan, Nzérékoré, Kindia, Labé and Boké, relying on the Orange and MTN masts, which are the most widely deployed networks in the country. In rural or inland areas the signal can be more limited, something normal throughout Guinea whatever the carrier. To get around the capital, the coast and the main routes you will have internet for maps, translation and messaging without any problem.
After purchase you receive a QR code by email. You scan it from your phone's settings, add the Guinea data plan and leave it ready before travelling; on landing you just turn on data roaming for that line and you are online. The whole process takes a couple of minutes and you need no technical knowledge. If you want to see it step by step, you have the details in our eSIM guide, with screenshots for iPhone and Android.
